Head and neck restraints for track

I am not racing, already have the neck brace, would like to understand options and invest in a good restraint for HPDE events. Also, I am not planning to install a harness bar so it has to work with a standard 3 point seat belt. I see that R3 has good products, is that it?

What should I look for and what are the pros/cons?

Thank you

The Hutchens/R3 stuff works with the 3 point belts but that's about it as far as I know. That is what I would run if I didn't have a full roll bar or cage.

I would have run the old NecksGen/DefNder otherwise but I'm not sure I like the NecksGen Rev. I use a HANS currently. It works but it has cons that the DefNDer/NecksGen fixed. I only use it because we all use them for the race team so it's easy to swap the HANS during driver changes. I might still switch to the NecksGen Rev if I like it after trying it out sometime.

Can't think of many cones of a Head and Neck restraint compared to nothing. I, personally, would never use a 5/6 point harness based system without a roll bar (not a harness bar by itself) but that's me. Plenty of others do. Plenty of people also drive without seat belts on the street.

I wouldn't suggest a "harness bar" and I wouldn't use any harness without at least a Roll bar.

So you already have a neck brace? which one do you have? You ask if the R3 has good products? Is that what you have? if so the safety solution r3 is one of the few that dont need a after market harness to work correctly.

your post is pretty confusing.. hope you figure out what you need because safety is pretty important.. most people don't have/install safety equipment correctly which further endangers their life.

Go ahead and purchase an R3 for use with the 3pt seat belts. It'll be your safest option.

Update: Purchased R3 soon after earlier replies and love it. Pretty light and fits comfortably. Very easy to put on even with straps attached to helmet, just put helmet on first with R3 hanging behind your back. I use it with stock 3-point belt.
