I love heights. I love being high up and seeing far. The higher, the better. But! I'm terrified of falling. The sensation of it, hell, even if I trip and fall over, that's enough to shake me (though the quick impact with the ground sorts that out.) I could never climb that high and stand on so little.

That's near the top of Half Dome in Yosemite..(Anyone remember a David Lee Roth pic near that spot??) That nutbag Alex Honnold is one of the 1st people to be unroped there.

Funny, the normal way to traverse that skinny ledge is crawling on your hands and knees. I found this pic from 1994:

I'm not afraid of heights if I'm enclosed and strapped into something, but those kids are fucking insane.

I used to hang-glide. Being 10,000 feet above ground level was awesome but I would have to creep up on a guard rail that was at the edge of a look out. Yeah, fear of falling > fear of heights.
