Angel eyes - what brand?

Hi all,

I am thinking seriously to install some angel eyes/halos on my GTS. Which brand do you guys recommend? i used umnitza's Orion v2 in the past for my previous car, but now I am not sure what else is out there. I have seen the Morimoto brand out there from Retrofit Source and they look quite ok! Just not sure which is better!

or if there is anything else out there let me know!

I'd go with TRS simply so I wouldn't have to deal with Umnitza. That dude is a ****.

We have several new types of angel eyes available, including COB angel eye rings that don't have any breaks in them like the SMD style chips

Feel free to call us if you need assistance: (314) 205-3033

Thanks!

Hi there mate, I have just had a look on your website. Some of them look really good! I want something bright, reliable, and I don't want to see the led in there. Maybe if i could apply a diffuser over them would be great!

Our COB rings don't have any breaks in them at all. They are a continuous light, which is probably what you are looking for IMO.

We just received a new shipment of them, and they are the brightest option available.

those look very similar to trs' gen-1 rings, which used a standard fiberglass pcb for the base of the ring-- those rings had issues with overheating, which is why trs revised their newer rings to be based on a mcpcb platform to aid in dissipating the heat produced...

Interesting assumption... These are full aluminum. Pictures might be old depending on what you're looking at, we did carry the standard PCB some years ago just like TRS did back then.

We use the same private-label manufacturer as TRS. Our rings meet or exceed their quality. And no, it's not Morimoto- that is not a real company.

Thanks,
Paul

I dont quite get it! You guys use the same private label manufacturer as TRS but your rings meet or exceed their quality. Also, what is the difference between this and Morimoto product that TRS is selling?

I'm guessing same manufacturer, slightly different product line. Kind of like Subaru makes the BRZ, but they also make the FR-S. Same thing, different stuff.

^ i would guess the same. trs has stated in the past that bringing new products to market can have very high costs, so sometimes they share the start-up costs with other companies interested in producing the same product. so it doesn't surprise me to see the rings sold by other companies..

i was just surprised to see diode dynamics, who usually prides themselves on quality led products, selling a product with some pretty significant defects... i'm kinda glad i was wrong
