8 inch tablet possible?
So I have done some research and found an affordable windows 8 tablet. I def prefer android but let me explain. With a windows 8 tablet your are able to do all your datalogging and tuning right there in the dash. So no more carrying along the laptop. The dell venue 8 is on sale for around 300 on amazon. For all the nexus install guys whats the possibility of installing an 8 inch tablet, will it fit?

I don't think you'll be able to fit many 8" tablets in the oversize double din area. The nexus 7 2013 has a 16:10 aspect ratio making it quite long and relatively narrow and its screen JUST fits height wise. Not many tablets have this "widescreen" aspect ratio and even if there was an 8" tablet with that aspect ratio or even better a 16:9, its screen width may still be too large for the opening in the car. There is also the issue of bezel thickness and fitment of the larger tablet. Anything is possible though, just gotta experiment

HP Slate windows 7 tablet should fit in just fine. It was roughly around the same size as my nexus 7. Getting to its USB ports though will be a different story since the dash trim would be blocking access to it.

I tried a samsung 7.7 tab before I got my N7. The 7.7 was too big. You need to find the dimensions of the actual tablet instead of the screen size.

Yeah, eight inches is gonna be a pretty tight fit in most spots.

If you mount the ipad high enough with the back camera pointed forward you could use it as a dash camera.
