Experience with the TRD brake pads?

Just looking for some feedback on them. I have looked at their composition and they seem to be a slight upgrade, but nothing major. I'm considering giving them a try for the upcoming autocross season as I am not up for a pad swap every weekend.

I'm not looking for your opinion on TRD pricing, or what you thought about the TRD spoiler you had on your 92 Corolla.

Thanks

They're just uprated street pads. They'll probably be okay in an AutoX setting; just be sure to cool them fully between runs.

You'll be better off with an AutoX oriented pad.

i run them on circuits over here and haven't had any issues, but i have brake cooling ducts, and higher speed sections to cool them off. they have zero noise so far. some of the japanese guys have complained about pad fade with them, though. The project Mu hc800 is a pretty popular pad. Some of my friends run them on their daily drivers and they are a good all around pad, some brake noise though. im sure CSG Mike can give you more info on that stuff.

The TRD pads here in NZ have a bluish backing plate color. If they are the same ones as you get then as Mike said they are just uprated street pads.

I've used them on the track on an OEM brake system with no ducts and I had pad fade after 1 lap. Half a lap with OEM. They were down to metal before lunch.

The price I paid for my TRD spoiler for my '93 Corolla was over the top. Also, it only lasted half a track day because I didn't have spoiler cooling ducts fitted.

I've tried 6 different pad compounds including the trd blues.

They are barely an upgrade over stock. They're fine for the back, shit for the front.

Don't get them.
