WRC exhaust, cat at rear of exhaust?
 When I was watching the last WRC event I noticed that the exhaust on a lot of cars looked molten right near the exhaust tip. After reading up on it a bit it seems like they put the cat right at the end of their piping, just before the tip. I couldn't find any info on -why- they do this, or if there would be any benefit on any other exhaust setup. Anyone have any ideas or info?

Only explanation is emissions. They do drive on public streets between stages.
