I heard all the factory fill for the diff oil tranny oil and engine are all garbage should I change the diff fluid and tranny fluid or just leave it and just change my engine oil?

Well, Anthony7515, my opinion is that if the transmission and differential oils should be changed sooner than the maintenance schedule states ..... the manufacturer would have changed the schedule.
However, with severe use, such as heavy track use, it may be wise to change them sooner. Others, I'm sure, feel differently ..... ![]() humfrz |

I'm going to change mine before I pull it out of storage in the spring. I've seen some pretty nasty looking pictures of cars with gunked up magnetic plugs... Ultimately you probably don't have to, but it wouldn't hurt. There is someone running a package deal thing that comes with 4 bottles of Motul Gear 300, and the necessary crush washers. It has everything you need for both the trans and the diff.

IMO I would drive it on factory trans and diff for 10K than Change it out to get rid if assembly gunk including any tiny metal fragments as the gears and such wear in, after that I would not touch it again. The engine there are tons of opinions on that and tbh it's up to you what you want to do - i.e follow the manual to a 'T' or do better and change it earlier for the first one and then follow the manual...that's my two cents.

I would do the diff, when I did mine it was black and had more than normal shavings. Trans oil seemed fine and had minimal shavings. I noticed the transmission and diff engage better when shifting that about it. To me...worth it. I'm at 20k miles btw

Yeah I think I'm gunna change all the oils then leave it alone because this was my first manual car so I prob am better off doing that then just doing an oil change from then on

See this thread
There is an overwhelming amount of people that seem to agree that you should change your fluid for various reasons and that is what has got me worried about my fluid. I didn't read through that entire thread so I didn't see if there was a professional opinion posted without seeming like they were just trying to sell something. If you guys know something I don't please share... @CSG David
