PRE Intercooler stage 2 TC kit almost ready
Stopped by PRE today and saw @evan 's FR-S lol, I was honking at you at Chevron too, seems like you were looking down the whole time.
![]() so they are in the tuning phase of the intercooler set up (Garette) and the shop car is using the 500hp rated core. BoV is recommended at this set up now. ![]() Here is what the piping looks like at top: ![]() ![]() What do you guys think? Shop car is going to be tuned about 11psi, their hoping about 330 ish whp. I think I may go a lil conserve and go 9psi. Super excited for this!! I may lose the washer tank, but they may fab up a small tank. Planning on putting the oil cooler by the wheel well on the driver side front, and take out the fog light since I never use them and they suck imo. As for supporting mods, I'll need a BoV, Wideband o2 sensor and maybe a EGT sensor. Already got the tranny cooler so I'm not trying to clutter the front end too much. The Spal slim fan seems like a reaaaaalllly good idea after reading some fans melting.. I'm also considering punching holes in the mustache area with a black mesh grill (so it doesn't look super ghetto) to get some air flowing through there, seems to be pretty effective from the track guys. Also a vented hood, not sure if I want a CF hood or hack up the oem hood.

No me gusta. Looks WAY too tight. I'd be afraid to see how high IATs might be with that design.

I am scheduled for install on the week of March 31st, through April 5th for a FMIC fabrication/install, BoV, and custom oil cooler bracket in the driver side front bumper behind the fog lights. So say good buy to fog lights, and I will have a hole there (not yet decided to spend $400 on CF fog delete from APR).
So far the shop car is pushing 11.5 psi and is about 360whp, customer car #1 is pushing about 8psi and is right under 300whp. I'm probably gonna be similar, and hit that 300whp mark and call it good until doing internals. As for the oil, do you guys think I should go 5w-30 or stick with 0w-20? I will discuss this with the shop as well, but so many different opinions.. Also with spark plugs, seems like many people are sticking to stock plugs, but a colder plug helps? @evan how did they go about on putting a sensor by the throttle to log IAT's on your car?

Nice. Stick to 0w-20. We're not in Phoenix. Engine clearances were setup for thinner oil. Ultimately, 5w-30 might be ok as it is. You could go with a slightly colder plug, but I think most FI guys are sticking to stock or replacing with stock. On my innovate kit, the plate on the intake manifold where the map sensor mounts to has been drilled for an additional sensor. It's essentially for reading boost for the WMI to spray. This was where the car was also used to tune based on post-blower IATs. At least, this was the explanation I had gotten from Bobby. I'll verify with Erich. |

That intake pipe is deadly close to that downpipe... Almost looks like the Vband is touching it. It looks like the o2 is touching it...

It's close but the air gap plus wrapping hasn't shown any issues on the shop car to date. Btw, it's making a lot more than the 340 we were expecting at 11psi

Jason needs to take his shop car to auto-x or track to test the limits.

I wonder if my 24.5x9.5x13 slicks would fit over the rear brakes on the BRZ
