Repaint - Silver Car

So my car got rear ended, and they're replacing the entire back end and blending some paint...

Anything I should watch out for (Paint Wise) when I receive my repaired car? Car is silver.

And should I get my car detailed after the shop finish repainting half my car?

When you say entire back end do you mean trunk and rear bumper?
Just curious because I would try to stay away from blending if possible. I had somebody back into me and the body shop wanted to blend my bumper when it only cost me $50 more to replace the whole bumper and have the whole thing painted to match. I had to research the prices on the bumper and get them to price match but for only $50 more I was happy to have an entire new bumper that I knew was all the same color with no blending.

I would just look the car over real well and make sure there are no imperfections and that you are happy with the way it looks! And if you're not don't hesitate to tell them your concerns. Luckily the body shop I used was extremely friendly and adressed my concerns and took care of everything( I know not everyone experiences this but it's worth a try)

Don't get it detailed right after it has been painted - the paint will take quite awhile before it is completely dry if you're getting it fully re-painted (typically 5-7 weeks), and you don't want to touch it before then.

Honestly if you can, I recommend not washing that part of the car either except for a light rinse with water, or if it gets bird droppings or something on it that would damage it further.

Sorry to threadjack, but I'm in the same boat. Can the body shop just order a silver bumper, pre-painted from the factory?

Eh. My trunk , bumper, and both quarter panel is getting replaced. I believe they are blending and not painting the whole car.
The bumper comes unpainted.
Since they are repainting so much stuff. What are the chances my silver FRS will have mismatched paint? I saw silver car is very hard to blend.

Most people don't understand what blend means. It means the adjacent panel to a panel that has been replaced or repaired is having base coat blended (faded) out into it so the new paint is not directly against the original. When it's faded out its hard to tell the new from the old. Then that entire panel is clear coated. You want the adjacent panels blended into or else you are guaranteed to have color match issues

Look for holograms, sanding lines, dust and particles stuck in clear coat, paint drips. none of these things are acceptable.
