Anyone know a guy for NY inspection?
My friend car has check engine light. 2 codes, one for Cat P0420, and other something with the transmission. The car otherwise operates, brakes work and such. Tried resetting the codes and getting it to have 2 DTCs not ready without any pending codes to get the inspection. But the P0420 keeps pending before we reach the magic window.
So now we are stuck and don't know anyone who can help us get the inspection. If you know someone please let me know and if you know how much $ too. Private message if you don't want to post publicly.

If the car is obd-II (1996+), the car will NEVER pass nys inspection with check engine lights no matter who you know. the inspection computers communicate directly with DMV computers...
However, if you just need a sticker, you can buy one from someone you know, BUT, if the car is up for re-registration, you will need to show that a legitimate inspection was done. There is a loophole though, if you are up for re-registration, you surrender plates, wait a bit, and then register your car again. this will give you the two year break where you can "buy" a sticker. source: I know about 4 ppl that do inspections personally. One has a fully built s2k with AEM standalone (no obd communication). |

my suggestion to you would be to research whatever resistors/relays you need to fool the ecu into thinking everything is working. I recently "passed" my 96 maxima with most of the emissions devices pulled out. the ecu was fooled and didnt throw any codes.
