i don't think you'll find anything that will work with a type r. from what i'm seeing by other type r users, you will need at least a 1-2 cu ft sealed box for them to really work right, though ported at 3-4 cu ft is even more recommended.

the integrity concepts box is about 0.75 cu ft for a 10" sub, and so far that's one of the larger custom boxes i've seen for this car...

according to crutchfield, it will physically fit, but it's not going to sound very good at all.. people with box-matched 8's and less power will very likely be able to have a better quality/loudness setup then what your looking at would net..

the box size can make or break the sub...

The Alpine Type R 10" subwoofer will physically fit great in our 10" enclosure and is matched good to the sealed internal volume as well.

According to the subwoofer manual and spec sheet provided by Alpine the enclosure sealed volume "range" for the SWR1022 and SWR1042 is from 0.50 - 0.80 cu ft with the "optimum" volume being .65 cu ft. The other Alpine Type R generations look to be along the same lines as far as recommended volumes, with our enclosure volume fitting well within all of the recommended ranges.

Our 10" enclosure comes standard with room for a 7” deep mounting by 6.5” wide magnet and .75 cu ft of sealed airspace which as stated above will work good for your subwoofer following Alpine's recommendations, but we also offer tailoring to any volume below this if so desired.
