Help Needed
Well guys here's my issue and I would like some input as I am at a crossroads on what to do . A few weeks back I bought a big brake kit front and rears ( Wilwood) they set me back a few dollars to say the least then I started second guessing my purchase because for a little more I could get into a Super charger kit from kraft works I had planed on a budget of 7500 dollars and with brakes and charger tune and install I am looking at close to 10000 dollars , before u ask I am in Canada were we pay double for everything due to our shit dollar and week tuner market .
I was told I could return the big brake get and add the money towards the cost of the supercharger which in its self is almost paid off if I do that but the dealer tells me that I would need brakes to stop the car but I think the kit might be over kill for the 260 280 hp that I am looking at to get from the kit . So my question is do I keep the brake kit or return it an focus on the motor and just upgrade my pad and rotors ,as this will keep me within budget or do I suck it up and have the wife kill me twice while I sleep . I just want to do this right the first time my car after this supercharger install is almost done minus the body kit if I decide to go that route . So guys any help or other possible solutions to this matter would be great . Thanks |

I would suggest you send the overpriced brake kit back. You can buy a lot of various kinds of brake pads for stopping your machine, for a lot less money. Besides, stopping your car is going to be the least of your worries, if you get crossed up with your wife ....

If your going to track it, you need the brakes. Don't forget to upgrade your brake fluid too. People are boiling their fluid on stock brakes, and you have to be careful not to toast your stock front brakes during heavy stints on the track with these cars.
But if you don't do intense track days or even Autocross, and you just like to gun it on the street every once and while. Then Stock brakes are more than enough. Brake fade is the only thing really effected with an upgrade. If you want to stop faster then that's the tires problem, assuming your hitting ABS of course. |

I don't see a problem...
Remember, chicks dig the long ball...er, supercharger. The faster you go, the more they like it. They don't want you to stop! ![]() Seriously, If she has already approved your upgrade money, do not over step your bounds. Divorces are infinitely more expensive than upgrades to a vehicle, unless you are in supercar territory. |

in terms of keeping it real between parts, i would say return the big brake kit and get your boost platform. you will love the car with boost and the power it can make. i still feel the vortech on my car is the best upgrade I have invested in. In the mean time for brakes, grab some steel brake lines such as goodridge , upgrade your pads, get a master cylinder brace, and top it off with motul rbf brake fluid. I had that setup for a bit and the braking was improved by a LARGE amount in my opinion. I do have a wilwood now, but i would say boost plus the brake upgrade i stated earlier would make you feel comfortable with stopping power and the gains from boost. good luck!
