Steering too easy. What can we do?
Good friend and neighbor was over yesterday and was complaining about his car. He loves his new Toyota Camry SE 4 cyl, but dislikes how easy the steering is, that he is going to try to trade it in for something else's. I was thinking there really isn't anything that can be done, am I wrong? Can you change the "feel" of the power streering? Is the geometry of the stock suspension setup make the steering light, or can we change that to help the issue?
Anybody know what can be done?

Probably has electronic power steering. So no, generally nothing can be done. When it comes to vehicles like that, unfortunately the people that want stiffer steering are in the minority.

Tell him not to drive an Audi.
Really? Trade in a car because of steering? Dudes driving a Camry, what does he want? Easy steering can be learned, on the Audi I've learned how to use it to my advantage.

Put wider tires on it and change the wheels to a set with more of a "poke" offset. That should increase the steering effort required to turn the wheel. It did on my FRS anyway.

If it's mechanical power steering he could disconnect the belt if he wants to be he-man in less than a week, or he could probably put a different sized pulley on the pump to make it work less hard.
Honestly neither are worth the effort he should just live with it.
