If you had to choose, would you rather get the FR-S 2013 10 series, or a regular 2014 FR-S, and why?

I had this option about a month ago...
Went with the 2014MY. I liked the little additions of the 10 Series, but just couldn't get a feel for the silver ignition color. I would have waited for the Monogram Series, but timing wasn't in my favor and needed a replacement project car...

If the Monogram series came in Blue Ribbon metallic I would've thought twice assuming pricing is comparable -I'll stick the with 10 Series (Ignition Silver is pretty cool because it's unusual). If my 10 Series came with the Monogram's padding and an FT86's underbody panels that would make me a very happy Scion camper.
As for the lit badges who notices them anymore? I don't see why something so innocuous has such a overwhelming polarizing and irrational vehement effect on people here. A regular FR-S would be fun for the track, drifting and especially modding because it's initially cheaper & slightly lighter (due to the fewer added features) but the Monogram/10 Series for everything else (few extra creature comforts and aesthetic embellishments). |

What you get with 10 Series:
-Smart Key Entry & Push Button Start -Dual-zone Automatic Climate Control -GT86 Headlights /w HIDs -Silver Ignition Paint -Light up Logos & Electroluminescent Dash (Dash is a different mesh color, slightly greyer) -Silver Seatbelts ALL OF ABOVE COMES WITH AN ADDED PRICE What you get with 2014 Regular FR-S: -Your choice of color -Newer model year (may save you a few $ on sale later on) -Kneepads - T-Mesh Dashboard (Darker) - Easier to get aftermarket parts that are color-matched (i.e. sharkfin, spoiler, etc) That's my simple list. Only you can decide on the options that are important for you, and what you are willing to spend on them. You will save a little money on a regular FR-S which can go towards an HID kit, WingJet headlights, etc. I purchased a 10 Series because I wanted to added luxuries of Smart Key entry, push button, auto climate, GT86 Headlights. Yes someone is probably going to comment, why didn't you get a BRZ? There is no Subaru dealer nearby me, and I prefer the look of the FR-S. At first I wasn't to sure about the color but its amazing in person. I get compliments on it all the time from other 86 owners, its unique. |

10 Series to dodge the '14 price and freight increase with no change in content besides kneepads. Also 10 Series resale should be better. Some say the '13 10 Series are being discounted a bit right now. If the color agrees with you, it seems like a no brainer IMO.

How can you say no to a car that changes color depending on the lighting.

10 Series, because I cant stand the cheap A/C knobs or Halogen headlights, and silver ignition is the closest available color to baby blue.
Now... if the 2014 came in a color similar to nurburgring blue, I would have held for a monogram series, because again, I hate the cheap A/C knobs and Halogen headlights... and I really like the push start. |

Skip both and go for Monogram if you can afford it.
