Stock mats/carpets wearing quickly?

I'm sure we had a thread on this quite a while back. My car is 15 months old and 28560 odd km into it and the drivers side carpet has worn through below the clutch pedal near the seam.

I'm wondering if this worth attempting a warranty claim on? That's a tad shoddy in my opinion. That said I am an enthusiastic driver...

On Friday I had the left rear taillight (usual moisture issue) and both rear-view mirror units replaced as they rattled and had excess play since new. New ones are tight. Different car!

BTW, I had mine replaced under warranty but was after less than 5,000km - can't actually remember the exact mileage.
