Simple frs coolant question
Hi guys
So today I decided to check my coolant level on my frs and on the reservoir it was between the low and full mark when cold wich is good but here is where I'm not sure, I then decided to open the radiator cap to see if there was any coolant up to the filler neck and it wasn't, it seemed a bit low. Is this normal? Mind you the weather here is -17 degrees Celsius Thanks guys Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk |

According to the manual it says it should be between full and low when the car is cold. So that's normal. But it says if you're low or a little under fill it up to full. So it couldn't hurt to fill it up just make sure you get the OEM Toyota or Subaru super coolant aka the blue one. If you mix another color it shortens the lifespan.

Not to worry.... ![]() Yes, back in the day, one could look into the top of the radiator and see if the core was covered with fluid. That's because the top portion of the radiator was the reserve "tank". humfrz |

And if you do add coolant to the tank, like @Danny86 mentioned, be sure it's the Toyota stuff that you add. Some say it's OK to "top it off" (don't get it too diluted) with "distilled water", NOT to be confused with regular bottled water. Distilled water can be purchased at hardware stores or some drug stores. Happy Holidays! humfrz |

^this. Yes it is. Some people complain that the bottle costs $30-40something, but honestly it lasts like forever. Toyoburu claims this super coolant lasts like 10 years or roughly 100k. Why would you not get it?

I topped mine off with distilled water while my blue mix is on order from Toyota because it was close to low. Probably will have to get a straw and suck out the distilled water when it arrives LOL
EDIT: Can anyone confirm if this is the super coolant you guys are talking about? http://www.toyota.com/owners/web/pag...52&partNo=part Found some off ebay for 16 bucks: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Toyo...-/310197176760 or Subaru's: http://www.fredbeansparts.com/subaru...e-coolant.html |
