Winter Mode!

I saw this over on the BRZ side, but could not find one over here.
This was me after the first blizzard of the season. I drove right through it, and a day later got most of the snow off, but still pretty nasty looking.
Crappy cellphone pic so I played with the contrast and lighting, the glare washed out the original image pretty bad.

These cars do extremely well (traction control on) in the snow. I took mine snowboarding and on the way up the mountain I was doing slow drifts up the the crest . The only time I got stuck was when I was trying to go home and we couldn't get the car out of the parking spot

For now it is a necessity. I wanted the FR-S, but I am not in a place in my life where I can reasonably have multiple cars. In a few years it will be garaged winters, but for now it suffers.

It is even worse looking today after last night...it is more of a pink and less red because there is so much salt. Tomorrow I am going to spend a few bucks at a self car wash and just spray it down.

Salt and snow, will take a nice car and turn it into a junk pile pretty quick.

My salute to you sir.

Not gonna lie...To all those who say "I wouldn't let mine touch snow" - you're missing out on a sh*t load of fun

I contemplated going the beater route but didn't want to make payments on a car sitting in my garage with all these mods that I can't use...all while paying repair bills on some heap of trash

So I dropped $1100 on some Michelin Xice i3s and haven't looked back since...The endless drifts and fish tails make every day that much more fun (who thought you could have even MORE fun in the twins??) I easily pass most SUVs and pick up trucks in snowy weather

Just my 2 cents...

Love how the car handles in the snow. Still goes where I want if I drive sensibly, and I have no problems regaining control if it starts to step out. Now I just need a weekend where its not ungodly cold so I can wash the car and finally get some Paint Defender on the front

And in the interest of full disclosure, I am currently on snow tires and steelies. I wouldnt drive this car in the winters here in Ohio without them.
