Warning to all: Lynbrook Audi

Recently just went to Lynbrook Audi with my father to purchase an Audi.

A lot of things that were completely standard on the car (even stated on Audi's website) they were charging as an extra option. Such as sport seats and active lane assist, they would of made an extra $6K if we believed them and went along with them.

We went to another Audi dealer that didn't pull that trick on us, even the two options we choose for the car we got free and saved money on top of that.

These guys are real crooks, Lynbrook Audi never again.

Edit: Forgot to add. They had the car we wanted in there but the wrong call, they added $12,000 to the price just because they had it and you didn't have to wait for the order. What a joke....

Going to another dealership was definitely the right call. I wonder if contacting the Audi USA corporate office would do anything. Probably wouldn't effect you at all but it could save the next person who doesn't know any better.

It was odd, they had an official paper of options that said the sport seats and lane assist was options. We went to the other dealership and on the list of standards were the same said items.

I'll just let it go, can't bother Audi with no real proof.

I would honestly call Audi America or whatever they're called. That's absurd!

That's very strange. I'd go back to Lynbrook Audi and say "why were these on the list of standard features at another dealership?" just out of curiousity lol

That sucks we used Snyder Nelison. Only problem I had was with the title person not having enough brains to figure out how to transfer FL plates from my car to the wife's new Audi S4

Most car dealerships are like this unfortunately. I helped a female coworker negotiate with a local honda dealership recently ( two days ago). They tried to get her for an extra 6.5k, they added it in on her out the door price, telling her over and over it was the msrp plus the options (it was a base model 2014 accord), I pointed it out and after over an hour of argueing and showing them how the math did not add up and how the sticker price and lack of options were worlds apart, she walked out of there 6.5k richer and with a new car. Needless to say dealerships will try and get at people they feel are vulnerable.

When I bought my FRS, the first dealership wanted 4k more than the second and there were issues with the car including the horrible plastic button head unit and the lack of spoiler. Plus the car had over 300 miles on it.

When I called up the seond dealership and told them i was ready to buy a car today..... they offered me 500.00 off any scion. Then I got an additional 500.00 off for being military plus I got the car under MSRP withthe exact options I wanted, plus my car had only 4 miles on it. No test drives, only me. I went and saw them, slept on it and returned the following monday to purchase, where they offered me an even better deal.

Needless to say, shop around, you will more than likely find a better deal, don't let a dealership get under your skin becausse of an impulse buy, sleep on it and remember to ask yourself, is this the price I am comfortable paying for this car? Also the price a dealership pays the manufacture for a car is a great deal lower than the MSRP. You can buy a car under MSRP..... and the best time to buy is at the end of the month, like the last 3-4 days because the dealerships are trying to meet a quota so they can receive benifits from the manufacture.

Tell me you didn't let your friend buy an Accord for MSRP?

Why let it go? It clearly bothers you enough to post on a forum. I would follow through with your dissapointment and make the call. You may help other customers that aren't as savvy. Do the right thing.

You should have called Audi of America before you bought the car, you may have been able to get $500 or $1000 off the price. Either way you should still call and report that dealer, maybe you'll get some free maintenance or something.
