2015 Chevy Colorado
Just the other day I was listing small/midsize trucks on my fingers and there weren't many... I thought that Chevy didn't even make the Colorado anymore. Well, the images of the next Colorado were just leaked...
Is it just me... or did Chevy just slap the front of a Grand Cherokee onto a Tacoma?

It's close, but different enough to tell them apart.
I think it's a pretty good looking truck, really. |

If they'd ever put a smaller (2.5-3.5L) turbo diesel in one of the smaller pickups they sell here in the US, i'd consider it, sadly there is no demand for such a thing.

Confirmed 2016 Colorado will have the 2.8l duramax... Just saw it on facebook. I'm not a Chevy guy at all but the new design caught my attention enough to read the article, I might look into one when I pay the frs off.

Even the last Colorado looked like a cheaper version of the 2nd gen Tacoma. Same fender flares and even the same angle too.

Height of a 2wd Hilux in '91: ~61" Height of current 2wd Tacoma: ~67" Curb weight delta around 900 lbs. (2600 lbs vs 3500 lbs) http://www.edmunds.com/toyota/pickup...res-specs.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_...0.93present.29 You don't have to explain WHY it's happened, I'm just sad it's happened. I went shopping for new 'compact' trucks and comparison shopped to their predecessors. I saw the newer truck as bigger and heavier with similar utility and performance to the twenty year old model, hell there was a decrease in fuel economy, all for $15k-$20k more than buying the old truck. What does that $15k+ get me, a warranty? The old truck is so mechanically simple I can fix it in my driveway. A fresh interior? It certainly didn't offer any more features, mine has a CD player, excellent A/C, and a five speed transmission, what am I missing from the current base model? Computer controls? Bah, everyone complains about how they complicate things anyway. Not to mention insurance costs and parts costs. I'm just a bitter old curmudgeon don't mind me, just commenting on what qualifies as 'compact' nowadays with 2500 lb commuter cars and trucks that suck down more gas than they did 20 years ago. Source on the fuel economy, if you check on the old method of testing the '91 actually has BETTER fuel economy than the new one. http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find....=33116&id=8244 No need to respond, I just really need to vent on how auto manufacturers aren't designing cars I want every once and awhile. Edit: more sources on the fuel economy. http://www.fuelly.com/car/toyota/tacoma http://www.fuelly.com/car/toyota/hilux |
