Someone dinged my door
When I approach my BRZ there's always something in the back of my mind saying "check for dings that a crappy rustmobile might have left".
Well, usually I park over in the next continent compared to everyone in order to avoid this, but this weekend it was not possible. And sure enough, you guessed it, someone's door swung open and stopped itself at the expense of my paintjob. I left a note, but they just wanted to argue about it and say they didn't do it; at this point it is up to me to fix it. Is this something that I should attempt? I've read that a dent can be removed with a hair dryer, and then followed up with either dry ice or compressed air. I also have some meguiar's polisher to remove the "whitening" that has happened at the scratch. I would say it's about 3/4 of an inch long and also caused a minor dent. I have little/no experience with this, but I did put opti-coat on myself, so I am willing to attempt it if someone has a fool-proof method. Thanks for reading and for any advice you can give! And in the meantime, learn from me.. That voice in your head that tells you to ALWAYS park far away, is always right. |

Find a good PDR tech and they can remove them as long as the paint is not damaged. I had 2 dings from a shopping cart removed from my passenger door for $50.
