Snow Wheels
I have a set of snow tires from my tC that are on the tC Spec steel wheels. I just test fit them and the wheel sits fine. It clears the brake caliper and doesn't rub or anything. That said, the bolts that hold on the wheel appear to be a smaller diameter then the studs on the FRS. I put the stock studs on as a test and they seem to hold the wheel on fine. I just wanted to make sure it's safe using these studs on steel wheels. Am I okay using these or should I go out and get some proper nuts for the wheels?

Is the center bore of the wheel larger than your hub bore?

Stud size should not matter. The base of each lug nut is cone shaped and the wheel seats on these cones, not the studs. Also, the wheel centre is designed to be hub centric. This means the wheel is a snug fit on the hub and no load is carried by the studs except tension from the lug nut torque.
As long as the centre hole of your Scion wheels are snug fit onto the hub you will be fine. The studs are supposed to be loaded only in tension, not in shear. |

Ah okay that makes sense. The hub fits perfectly. It was just the lugs that didnt fit. I drove it up and down the block a bit and felt no vibrations.
