Try Aerospace 303 protectant on the rubber door seals. The windows do freeze if water gets between the glass and the seals.

What did the blue screen say? Probably a driver issue.

I've ready a lot of people have had this problem during the winter (especially us canadians)

Apparently you can disable that feature...I saw a pretty easy DIY where you just put tape around the door sensor that tells the car when the door is open (also disables the door chime)

Have you actually used this and it works? I am tempted to try this.

YES. I had this problem specifically after it snowed or I washed the car in the winter weather.

Yea, happened a few times. This winter, i'm going to try putting Aerospace and maybe disabling it.

Also, for those who don't know: If your windows aren't going up and down and your window buttons are flashing, hold them all the way up past the click (or down, I forget) for a few seconds until they stop flashing to reset them. IIRC You will need to go to the passenger side to reset that side.

I would check that the window will clear the body/trim when you disable to coupe auto-down feature.

I had an E36 with the same problem, and if you tried to fool the sensor the glass would just slam into the body/trim.

Going to try the product mentioned in the thread...

Subie guys have been treating their frameless window seals (and everything else plastic) with aero 303 for years. It might take a few applications if your are already saturated but it will eventually stop the problem. good luck
