TRD CAI and Hydrolocking
I was wondering if anyone locally had installed the TRD cold air intake on their car? I've been thinking about getting it put in, and I read that cars with CAIs installed suffer more easily from hydrolocking. Since this car is super-low to the ground as is, and we get a considerable amount of snow, has anyone had any issues with it?

the TRD intake (which IMO really isn't anymore of a cold air intake than the stock intake) gets its air supply from the same location (snorkel inside the front bumper) as the stock intake.
therefore, no you will not increase your chances of hydrolocking the car with the TRD intake installed. Some of the other aftermarket intakes maybe another story. |

Hydrolocking your car with the TRD or actually any CAI I've seen that are made for our car is nearly impossible, unless u go pour a bucket of water on it. Most of the cars that I've seen getting hydrolocked are the ones where their CAI goes way down, nearly touching the ground. With those any big puddles will be like a death trap to them.
