Hey curious to see if anyone is running this in there brz with the factory head unit. If so what are your thoughts, is it worth the 130 for it? Thanks

I'm running one with the stock HU in my BRZ. I didn't pay that much for mine; bought it second-hand. I'm happy with it for now. It's no substitute for a digital processor, but it does clean up the sound fairly well, and at a fraction of the cost. The biggest thing it did for me was eliminate the bass roll-off that the stock HU imposes as you turn up the volume. That alone drove me nuts.

Are you both running stocks speakers with these installed? I'm trying my hardest to keep the stock setup while cleaning up the tweeters/eq settings.. Is the wiring complex to route sound from the stock trunk amp through this and back to the speakers?

I'm planning on swapping out the speakers and adding a amp, trying to get a better sound quality with much less distortion.

No, I'm not running stock speakers. Stock HU>LC6i>JL XD700/5>Hertz HSK 163+Stock rears+JL 8W3v3-4
This set up is working pretty well for me right now. I really wanted to get an Audison or some-such, but I couldn't pull the trigger on the price after spending so much on the rest. I still may once other toys are purchased/paid off, but for now, this set up sounds pretty darn good (along with sound deadening in the doors and trunk). |
