Road trip in South west US, any advice on things i have to check out?

Hi,
Tomorrow i'm leaving for a 1500 mile roadtrip in the US .
I start of in Los Angeles then to San Diego, Palm springs, Scottsdale, Bryce canyon, Grand Canyon and ofcourse Las Vegas.:happy0180:

Any suggestions for things i need to see on this trip?

The southwest US is pretty ugly compared to Belgium. I'm jealous. In regard to San Diego, mission bay and the gas lamp are usually the popular spots. Maybe it's because I've lived here so long that I have a hard time coming up with places you NEED to see.

In LA, of course there's Hollywood and Beverly Hills.

If you have the time while you're in Arizona, I'd check out Sedona.

Another vote for Sedona by way of a side trip North through Prescott Valley to 89A and the historic mining town of Jerome.

A little late for the more scenic Grand Canyon North Rim drive that would add a day to your schedule, but the South Rim is beautiful, too. Check wx for Bryce, flash floods are common this time of year.

Don't go to NM or West TX, really Ugly.
That said, from San Antonio - East is really nice.

I know that's not your way but just a tip on a nice area

Also if you get the chance, I'd say go Highway 101 north all the way to Seattle, twisty and pretty

Why is everyone saying that the southwest is ugly? There are some incredibly scenic locations in New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and California. It's a very different landscape than Belgium, but I really can't understand some of these comments...

Sure there are some scenic spots, but 98% of it looks like this: (as a disclaimer, I don't really lump Colorado in with the rest. Colorado is very pretty)

I'd take Belgium

If you're committed to Bryce Canyon Nat'l. Park, you really should add at least a half-day for Zion Nat'l. Park that's sort of on the way. They're completely different.
