Lots of threads on this already. I recommend you read them.
But to summarize, Unichip is great if you don't want to flash the ECU. If that's not an issue, I recommned you look at the new OpenFlash Tablet. I suggest the same as what the other members posted look it up the search bar is your friend:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...unichip&page=2 http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...hlight=unichip That narrows down some reviews in the posts they suggested, also the consensus seems to be that it makes much more of a difference with supporting mods like pulleys exhaust and intake.

For what it's worth, I have the unichip and love it. Currently only have TRD CBE and drop in filter as far as engine/exhaust mods. There's definitely a noticeable difference in response and pull. The car still isn't "fast", but it's undoubtedly better.
With that said, I've been toying with the idea of selling the Unichip(plus the remap cable) for 200-300 plus shipping and buying the open flash tablet. It's nothing against the unichip, but I hate that for maintenance (ie free oil changes) I have to take it off and put it back on. It isn't hard to do, but is just annoying. As long as you go in to it with the right expectations (ie it alone won't drop 0-60 by a huge amount alone), it's a great product. If you're serious about Unichip, drop me a PM and I can try to give you a shipped estimate. |

Yeah I want it because I have the ap headers, ap catback, j2 mid-pipe, injen intake, and perrin pulley. So I wanna get the full power out of these parts.

Great product. Love mine and the whole no footprint concept is nice. Lots of maps and depending on the car can be used on several vehicles with the right harness. If you're in to tuning and buy the tuning software it's very straight forward.

I really like mine. The combination of my header and Unichip has pretty much eliminated the torque dip. The pull is consistent from 3k rpm on.

Unichip and display
Hey guys. I have a unichip with the cables to hookup to your computer. I also have the display unit that allows you to switch between maps and a handful of extra maps to try out. I'd be willing to bundle that up with a Greddy CAI if anybody's looking to upgrade. I can thank Vortech for all my wasted cash.

That makes sense now, UniChip could be eating into your profits by selling a competing technology.......................that goes to both posts above this one

Just so I am clear, when someone who comes into a post about product A and that person has created or sells a competing product B and says something negative about product A, then as far as I am concerned that is unprofessional.
That being said, when a vendor or product creator dose this, I will no longer consider their product something I want to look at........so good job to both of you. You may have a superior product, but IMHO, your actions of disparaging another competing product have made my view of your product dim and no longer something I would like to consider using. Now, if you had come in here with an explanation on what makes your product B superior without knocking the product A......you may have gained my interest in your product, even though I am using product A to begin with. Too bad you did not know how to do that in the first place................

The Unichip is for people on a small budget like myself . I got a used Unichip & K&N CAI for less than a new OFT. Does the OFT offer more functionality? Yes it does. That being said, I happy with a Unichip.

flashing a stock ecu is always better than a piggyback, that much is well understood. it doesn't make the unichip worthless, just with openflash at $499 now and ecuflash about to drop for the cost of a cable, there aren't many cases where it's the best option. actually, i'd probably argue that there aren't any. i'm pretty sure the unichips that are out there are about all that are going to be out there. that seems to be a pattern, they hit the markets early and some people jump on until a better option comes along then everyone switches. people did use unichips on wrx's at one point when i had my bug-eye, that and the old 'utec' or whatever it was called lol.
