I'm sure @retrosmiths might know more about this.

TL > TSX > FX-R
* TL is a huge projector, hard to retrofit in smaller assemblies. * TL and TSX are both OEM projectors, meaning they have better quality materials. * TL and FX-R's are bixenons (high and low beams) while TSX is single xenon (low beam only). * FX-R is currently the best bang-for-the-buck projector. (FX-R = $140, TL = $205, TSX = $220) * Make sure to get clear lenses (if they're not already included) as it enhances the output greatly. * If you're going OEM projectors, might as well go OEM with the bulbs and get Osram CBI's. * If you don't want to deal with much hassle, go with the Retroquick Kit, which includes Mini H1's and a bracket for our headlights. They are great starter projectors, around 75% performance of the FX-R's but straightforward installation. * Best source for these would be: http://www.theretrofitsource.com. I would also register in their forums: http://hidplanet.com * I have a current offer right now to retrofit somebody else's headlights as long as they provide me with all materials: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1187257 EDIT: FX-R Output: ![]() More projector comparison links: http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/show...-FX-IS-e46-LR3 http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/show...eam-Comparison http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/show...arison-Outdoor http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/show...-TL-E55-FX-etc

If anyone pays $220 for TSX low beam projectors, they're getting ripped a new one. Every single pair of TSX projectors I've bought (even the set that came with the rest of the headlights) has cost less than $150 shipped. The lowest cost pair was in the neighborhood of $90 shipped. But yes, agreed with retrosmiths on all accounts. TL (bixenon) is best, TSX/new TL (single xenon) is second, and FX-R (bixenon) is third. Easiest option would be the Retroquick solution. |
