Plasti Dip to the rescue

Several weeks ago, pulled into a parking space, was lazy and scraped the bottom of the front lip, really bad. The quick fix I opted for: sanded off the rough edges, used painters tape to mask off the top and sides of the lip, sprayed two layers of black matte plasti dip. Did the same on the passenger side for balance. Still looks terrible underneath, but at least I don't have to see it and the fix cost all of $7.

It was very visible, very ugly. My son looked at it and said "whoa, dad, you really screwed up".

Nice job on the fix!

I have one too, I have a feeling the majority of the owners will have front lip scraped/chipped. I mis-judged going down a parking dip at my workplace, went a bit too fast (5-8km/hr), should have installed a front lip when I bought the car, will probably still get one in the future, still trying to find the right wheels though.

Very cool, I was in a similar situation and paid a local vinyl installer to put matte black vinyl over that same lower lip area. Cost me $80 and I thought it looked great, but that was before I discovered Plastidip. Of course over time my lower lip continued to take a beating from various hazards and now it's a little rough looking again. I might have to copy you and just do it the plasti dip way this time around, after removing the vinyl.

Nice idea and job, can't even tell. Looks factory to me.

Dang, with the low clearance of these cars, I have another thing to OCD about when I get it. My friends make fun of me for parking a feet away from curbs because I'm afraid of curbing my wheels; now this will just make my ass stick out at parking lots, lol.

I love plastidip.
Did the center of the lip on my FR-S and did a pretty thick coating on the underside of the bottom lip. So far I've scraped a bit over some deeper gutters and haven't noticed any of the scratching go through the dip.
