What am I feeling during hard corning?

When driving on an open road and following a sweeping curve I feel something when getting on the throttle. This is not engine related but instead suspension related. I sense that the car almost presses into the road and squats down on its springs/dampers. The feeling is a stable and well planted feeling, but just wondering if this is something that others experience. It's a good thing, love when the opportunity presents itself based on traffic and road conditions.

Its rear wheel drive... The car will "push" itself into and through the apex of a turn. Symptoms include: Smiles, giggles, fizzy pants and more. Side effects are: Increased tire wear, screeching tires, and enhanced lap times. Speak with your doctor if you feel or experience any thoughts of turning off the traction control especially in wet weather.

You forgot to add the warning that if smiles and giggles last more than 4 hours, please seek medical attention immediately.

This is the feel of a very well matched set of springs/dampers/tires.

Or it could be your traction control and stability control kicking in grabbing the brakes to plant the corners of the car better.

If this is your first RWD car, be careful when pressing the throttle mid-corner. It may feel nice and planted, but if you press the throttle hard enough or are jerky with your inputs, it's possible the car will transition to power oversteer. Fun, but you have to know how to catch it.

I knew exactly what he was talking about when I read this... Sounds stupid I'm sure, but my first real appreciation for RWD was on Grand Turismo II with the Nissan Silvia JGTC:

That particular car seemed to digitally "feel" just like what I experience in my BRZ. When going through a turn you could accel and the car just grips and pushes through it providing an unreal feeling of "Because Racecar!"

Never felt this with any other RWD cars I've owned or drove...
