Forum Malware Virus Attack?

Just today, when I go to the forum on my PC my ad blocker blocks a bunch of pop ups and my avast goes off the chain blocking a malware virus. It just happened today on my PC. I also ran a malware removal program and I removed over 100 issues. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm typing this on my phone because I'm scared to go on the forum on my PC. My PC is only a week old too and I was fine until I went to log onto the forum today.

Hm... I have no issues on my side (both phone & desktop). Recently I checked my system for bugs, but nothing came up

Malware are launched by an EXE usually. Maybe it triggered when opening a new browser window.

What browser?
What malware removal tool?
What OS?
I can fix it

I found your problem, you are using Windows 8

But for real, it could have been something you already had that was triggered when you opened your browser.

Possibly. After clearing everything out with Malwarebytes things seem to be ok.

Malwarebytes is some pretty legit software; try out Google Chrome, even though Google can probably spy on everything you're viewing, it's a very secure browser - not to mention the quick load times.

Yeah they're all legit.

Download CCleaner

Say yes to download chrome.

Clean computer of caches and memory backups because some of those will stay if malwarebytes removes them.

Then clean registries

Check the programs list and delete anything you're unfamiliar with then redo steps 1 and 2 in CCleaner.

Last but not least, check C: for any folders with name you're unfamiliar with and Google the names yo see if you can delete them.

I just uninstalled Firefox and downloaded Chrome. I didn't like Chrome the first time I used it, but it seems to be running smoother than Firefox.

I also re-ran malwarebytes and did a a virus scan with Avast. Everything seems to be ok now.

I'll check out CClener. Is it a malware removal program?
