Damper crosstalk

With my Eibach R2 (double adjustable) dampers off, I've been messing around with the compression/rebound settings. At 0 compression and 0 rebound, I can compress the damper all the way with the weight of my body. To primitively test crosstalk of the damper, I kept compression at 0 and maxed out rebound at 7 clicks. It was pretty obvious that it took a little more effort to compress the damper even though I didn't touch with the compression setting. The damper definitely took a longer time to fully extend due to the max rebound setting.

In an ideal damper, I'm guessing there should be 0 crosstalk. You want to tune one variable without affecting the other. My question is, do most dampers have some form of crosstalk? Do the $7,000 Motons and JRZs also have this "issue"? Just trying to get an idea of what a quality damper is.

Even at the Ohlins level ($3700?) you have crosstalk, the difference being the amount of crosstalk occurring. It would stand to reason at the JRZ and Penske levels you eliminate even more crosstalk; how much are you willing pay for that becomes the question IMHO.
