Cant see the top of my tach...

Anyone else run into the issue where you can not see the top of your tachometer with your current seating position??

e

I have the steering wheel as low as it goes -- Drop it like it's hot -- and my seat relatively close, as I like to almost be on top of the steering wheel. During spirited driving, it can be an issue, but the shift light does help. For reference I am 6'4".

Has this happened to anyone else??

EDIT: after looking at the photo, my perspective isn't nearly as bad as it shows. But I did readjust slightly after reading some of the feedback and I now have the seat slightly more reclined and the wheel a notch higher. Tach is just barely hidden at the top of the arch. Thanks for all the discussion!

Cheers!:happy0180:

Raise the wheel a bit? "Drop it like it's hot" makes it sound as if the appearance matters more than seeing the tach.

The steering wheel elevates and telescopes. Raise it so that it frames your dash cluster, and telescope it out to your preference.

The only problem I see here is your choice to "drop it like its hot", I guess because you think that is cool somehow, rather than an accessibility feature designed for people much shorter than you are.

Has nothing to do with being cool...

Just like to be on-top of the steering wheel more, and like it to be lower. Guess I am the only one that prefers it that way

Im 6'3" and I have no problem seeing my tach just raise the steering wheel. I tried to lower mine and my knees hit it. maybe put a little lean and you shouldnt have any problem.

Agree with the others. It seems like you're creating this problem for yourself rather than the car itself giving you a problem.
Lower your seat, raise the wheel, adjust your seating position.
Don't worry, no one's going to notice how high your steering wheel is, so they won't know you're not a real gangsta.

You shouldn't be sitting on top of your steering wheel. Another member shared this video a while ago and I found this seating position perfect for me.

HAHA!! No, but I have gone muddin' if that counts.

The steering wheel is all I can afford to drop right now.

I thought a bit of Snoop Dogg would be good. But ever since he started making Jamaican music, it has been downhill. Snoop Lion - I think it is now.

If you want your car to feel lower, wouldn't you want to RAISE your steering wheel so it looks like you're sitting much lower in the car? I'd imagine having a low steering wheel and being above it would make you feel like you're sitting in a bus.

I think its more to do with a long torso and long arms, not a good combo. I have the seat as low as it goes and back pretty far, along with the steering wheel lowish. Still feels like I am hugging the road, which I image is a reason a lot of us like this car. I love feeling like I am low and in control of the car.
