Clutch Master's FX300 Thoughts Opinions

Not sure if there was a thread already for this but i wanted to get opinions from fellow ft86ers that have this clutch on their car. I currently have an ACT streetlight clutch/flywheel combo and will be swapping it with possibly this clutch. Just wanted to get some opinions, biggest things are:

-how does this clutch hold up to tracking/sprinted driving/FI? I dont abuse my car on a regular basis but i do track my car here and there and drive the car on long trips. Also im going to be getting the Innovate Supercharger, upgraded final drive so it will be getting hit with more power.

-Hows the clutch chatter, the ACT clutch is very noisey and sounds like my clutch is all banged up at Idle esp when i have the AC on and the wind down noise is loud. How much of an improvement would the FX300 be over that noise wise?

-For those that have it did you use the stock flywheel or did you get a different flywheel to use with the clutch? im contemplating using the ACT flywheel but not sure if it is compatable with this clutch.

-Any other comments or suggestions or thoughts id appreciate it thanks.

appreciate it reading into it i might end up going for the Exedy stage 1 with the flywheel combo. was looking at PTunings website and 400 for a clutch and flywheel combo that has a 319ft/lbs holding capacity i think that sells it for me lol. i emailed them and going to confirm because i have seen the same clutch with only 203WTQ rating so gonna find out, if it falls through ill proably go the FX300 route.

I find it hard to believe a Stage 1 clutch will hold 300+ WTQ, so make sure to confirm it.

Yeah I talked to them and they told me that they are holding 400 and 300 whp and wtq with no issues. Other than that I cant really confirm or deny what they say other than take their word for it and hope its legit. But what really boggles my mind is other places were saying 203wtq and im thinking to myself why is this aftermarket clutch rated lower than the stock clutch for torque holding power? I dont believe ill ever crack over 300tq at the wheels esp with the innovate supercharger.

Yeah, think about it long and hard. If you REALLY plan to stay with the SC and not add much more, it should be good to go!

yeah im planning on staying with the innovate supercharger. the only other thing im gonna be doing to add some kind of power is a 4.67 final drive, and an actual catback. im more than likely not even going to go the E85 route at least not for a few more years when i get stationed back down in the San diego area, 29 palms doesnt have any E85 stations so im stuck with 91craptane for now. Im not trying to make big power with this car, if i was gonna do that i would of went back to an EVO lol i just need something to fill in the void that im still missing with all my lightweight parts. My main thing is the damn clutch chatter, i hate the amount of noise the ACT clutch makes. To the point i dont even like running my AC while im idling because it sounds like my transmission is going to fall apart lol. So im hoping the Exedy is pretty quiet like the stock clutch was.

Rattle under what condition? I honestly have very little complains about the FX300(350). Pedal feel is not bad, engaging is not violent, its easy to smooth out shifts, it does grab nice.

About the only two negatives I can find is: if you try to engage it with small amount of gas, and try to slip it a bit to get it going, it is going to jump, you'll feel the whole car rattling. It does not happen a lot, its just when you make the mistake of thinking it comes out similar to stock

Secondly, the Flywheel chatters. IMHO, it is way less than I expected. From the comments I had seem about the FX400 and since it is the same Flywheel, I thought it was going to be ridiculously obnoxious but that is not the case. You can here it in a hot day, windows down and you shift brake or are waiting on a drive thru with open window and the wall bounces the sound back at you.

I recommend it to EVERYONE who wants a daily drivable clutch that can hold power. If you plan on going ridiculous power, 350+ WTQ, I don't think there is much alternatives other than pucked clutches or multiple discs setups which are not much available and are EXPENSIVE.

the only thing i find weird is the stock clutch can still hold more than that at the wheels. i think it was in the 220-225 range for torque at the wheels before the clutch started giving, so its weird that this clutch is lower than that. Either way ill proably hit up Exedy themselves before i purchase and see what they say about my power plans but if it falls through then im not worried, ill just go the Clutch Masters route

Did the FX300 come with a flywheel bundled with the clutch or did are you using the stock flywheel/get a different flywheel? The ACT is horrible on the clutch chatter, hows the FX300 on idle with the AC running, is it extremely noticeable?

The FW is bundled. I believe the Clutch will not work with a FW from a different manufacturer or stock FW (might be totally wrong but believe I have read so). I think the chatter is very subjective. I think if it would be horrible I would notice, but to me it is not. Windows up, AC on, you can barely hear it. Windows down, car fully warmed up, hot day, yes you can hear it but again its not HORRIBLE.
