I need help with bluetooth

I used to be able to control the playback of my music by using the buttons on the head unit. I was fiddling with it one day and for whatever reason and now I can only control music through my phone.

If I disconnect the negative terminal on the battery for a while, will the system reset itself to factory default? If not, then what other steps can I can take to get my bluetooth back to the way it was before?

Try deleting the phone from your HU and re-link the phone from scratch? Good luck.

I just finished relinking my phone and it still won't let me control through the HU. I saw a setting in the BT menu to link from the device to my phone or from the phone to my device and neither of those worked either.

I did the reboot in the beginning. I have an evo 4g/android phone if that helps. But that brings up a good point. How do I know if its my phone vs the HU?

Hate to say it, but the menu for this HU is about the worst I've ever had the displeasure of using. Good luck with your issue.

I own a Galaxy S2S, and the bluetooth definitly has a temper. Sometimes I have a hard time syncing, or getting the proper song names displayed. Sometimes it doesn't auto-start / auto-off the last song played. It's just not always working right for me but when I reboot the phone usually it works better.

Do you mean power my phone off then on or a factory reset?

Just a restart / reboot. Turn it off then on. Or pull the battery. But no dont factory reset.

Do you still get the song titles being fed through?

This is down to the Bluetooth profiles being used to connect... the profile for music control is a fairly basic one, but if for some reason that's not being made available by your phone then the system can't do anything but be a passive speaker output. Try connecting a different phone to work out if it's the head unit or the phone that's not connecting with the right bluetooth profile.

My Samsung Galaxy SIII used Bluetooth 4.0 and it will stream all the ID3 tags and such. My Asus Tablet using Bluetooth 3.0 will connect and play music but not ID3 tags. So having said this, it might very well be a Bluetooth protocol issue.
