Best Oil for turbo engine.

Just curious what everyone is running for the engine oil on their Turbo builds.

Taking no chances under racing conditions so I'm running Redline 40w Race which is a 10w40. While it might sap some HP oil temps are so high while racing, oil pressure drops, and a heavier oil will do a better job of maintaining oil pressure at high rpm.

Also do not forget the more power you make the more critical the oil wedge in your bearings becomes.

What is your thoughts about a 40w on stock bearing clearances? My fear with a 40w was it would be a bit too thick. I value your opinion.

5w30 full synthetic, 10w40 for racing use. The idea that bearing clearances are tighter now than the days when oem's like Subaru recommended running 20w50 in their turbo engines is a myth. Clearances haven't changed but CAFE standards have. 0w20 is used for improved fuel economy, at the expense of engine protection and longevity.
