Downpipe vs Frontpipe? difference?

If I buy a catted down pipe, will it fit onto my stock engine? Someone told me that downpipes are made for turbo'd models, and front pipes fit stock. Is this true? What are the differences between the two?

A catted downpipe sold for our cars and intended to mate to the stock parts will fit your car.

It is confusing because people call some exhaust parts different names. I've had that argument from Subaru guys. For OUR cars: The downpipe=frontpipe which is the pipe with the secondary cat.

The only one that has been referred to as a downpipe on here is the one from Nameless which includes the overpipe built into the downpipe.

Most of the other companies all advertise theirs as Overpipe + Front Pipe.

Like he said, literally no difference, just the way someone calls the part whether it be a front pipe or downpipe.

Our cars don't have part called down pipe because the engine sits so low, the name down pipe doesn't make sense

When i was in the genesis club, down pipe was basically from the O2 housing to the catback;basically the downpipe. The O2 housing would be the over pipe.

Different cars, Different names, but all the same shit in the end lol
