Gas mileage goes up after header install

Hey

After installing my FA20club EL headers I realized that when I press the gas pedal hard my l/km goes up to 50L , it also makes a weird fluttering noise... I'm convinced there's a leak somewhere. I was thinking maybe the OEM header gaskets are too thin..

Anyone else get this problem?

I even changed my whole exhaust to stock OP invidia catless front pipe resonated am q300 cat back

I'm gonna be installing the fa20club turbo kit soon

fluttering usually means something might be leaking. If you feel its from the front, i'd re check that everything is torqued up correctly because usually re using the oem gasket wouldn't cause such issue ( apart them being friend prior to the install )

Check the vband. Mine was a little finicky but got it to seal on second adjustment.

OEM subaru gaskets are a crush style gasket. Resuing them usually is okay but you should always replace a gasket once it's torqued and un torqued.

On another note the gaskets are 36 bucks from my local shop. Not expensive.

I could probably get them free at Toyota, I'll see first if its the vband

I'll be using copper permatex on mine when it arrives. I had to use it on my motiv overpipe and hfc as well. How you like the header otherwise?

What's copper permatex? right now I'm running front pipe catless and catback with the headers and I love the growl.. I'm waiting for invidia to come out with an over pipe .
