i can't wait any longer

there is probably 0.05mm left on my clutch, the synchro in 3rd and 4th are falling apart, and the imput shaft bearing is probably already in 3 or 4 pieces, my rear axle boot is torn, the rear diff has been leaking for over a year (wouldn't be surprised if it was empty), my headgaskets (subaru) are leaking, my coolant keeps disappearing into somewhere, and the lifter knock is driving me insane

at this point i'm praying that the car lives till june, but i have a feeling it won't

i'll have a better chance selling it as-is if it drives, but if it goes bust then i'll be lucky if i get anything for it beyond what the body is worth.

so i seriouslly cannot wait for the FRS to hit our markets!!

/rant

Wow - I doubt you'd get more than a thousand for it in that condition, assuming it's got 100,000+ miles on it, so I wouldn't worry too much about the sell price now versus later. Do everyone (including yourself) a favor -stay off the highways!

the car runs fine, i've been in a car with a toast clutch.. you can still drive it, it's not like you just magically lose control.

the other stuff, well.. haha

actually you'd be surprised what i would get for it, it's pretty rare and teh chassis has never been in an accident, also all the suspension components are from an STi and the bushings are fresh, its the perfect car for a swap.

It sounds like your car is ready to hit the junk yard. Hopefully it'll make it till then.

GC8 coupe? Yeah, rolling chassis will have some value. You'd hear the rear diff getting close to empty. OEM axles could last awhile even with split boots. I'd clean it/grease it/seal it to get an extra month or two
Keep pouring coolant in it and it will last as well. Clutch/tranny input/synchros - rev-match, park on the hill facing down and it should last until summer

Good luck

that's what i'm sayin!

actually i just recently got an oil change (my last one was 9000km ago ) and put in some lighter oil, car ran better and stopped leaking oil (now that i think about it, it might have been a faulty oil filter or something up there)

i originally bought this car to mod it, this summer i was going to install an RA tranny with all the bells ans whistles of mechanical LSD and so forth.

then i heard of the FT and just stopped dumping money into the car.

In another post i mentioned that i'm just too old to do the whole weekend garage thing, id rather have a brand new car that i know will be trouble free for the next 5-6 years.

Damn, sounds like that Subie is barely surviving... Well, look on positive side, it's less than 6 months to go

You can do it! (both Subie & you)
