Legal in Ontario?

Re Jive Turkey's car below: are all-red taillights like those legal in Ontario? They look great with that paint colour, but aren't orange turn signals mandated here?

I'm pretty sure they're legal. I believe there are many new cars out there that actually just use red led turn signals, example the Audi Q5 I believe ?

He probably replaced the OEM bulb with clear bulb that flashes in amber color, so the turn signal is still street legal. Perfectly fine tinting your taillights red though, you can buy the plastic films or spray them yourself.

As many have said, it is fine to have red turn signals. In fact, some old American cars were using red back in the 90's so that is not an issue.

I am guessing this car has tinted red lights. There is a DIY of how to do this in the DIY section.

Tail signals can be amber or red, fronts have to be amber. The only lights on the back that have to be white are the reverse lights.

I have red overlays on my car with no issues from the police, I just left the amber bulbs, they look red through the overlay.

I'd recommend doing red nightshade as the overlays only cover the "face" of the light, so they still have the ugly chrome from the sides:

It's legal to red out the tails, especially for the FRS/BRZ since the reverse light is not in the body of the tail light. So reverse light is untouched and still shines white

Theres a section in the HTA that says you are not allowed to have any overlays on the front lights, but I cant find the section that mentions tail lights.

Either way you're not likely to get bothered.
