Test pipe questions

Welcome! Just had a few questions on test pipes in general. I searched test pipe and got some basic info but mostly found out who makes them lol.
I was wondering where exactly does the pest pipe go? Does it connect the front to the catback?
Aside from increasing airflow (hopefully) how much does it change the tone of an exhaust setup?
And last on a few setups I saw it said test pipe available on manual only? Why?
Thanks.

The test pipe connects the overpipe to the catback, eliminating the OEM 2ndary cat.

It will make your exhaust loud and might give you a bit of rasp.

There are test pipes available for both manual and auto, just have to do your research. Some are universal some are not, reason being there is less space in automatic cars, for example if you wanted a helmholtz resonator

Simply put, a test pipe is a pipe that replaces a catalytic converter. Like this

Left test pipe/Right Catalytic converter
