Will a resonated front pipe make alot less noise than test pipe?
I have the invidia n1 and want to buy a front pipe i was just wondering if the difference in sound from (both catless by the way) resonated and non resonated was a big difference cause i dont mind loud i just dont want it extremly loud!
Thanks mike!! |

Catless can sound like total crap unless you have it resonated and a good muffler. Otherwise, catted front pipes always sound amazing. I'd recommend staying catted with the N1.

Also, if you have plans for a header at any point later on, you will be very glad you have a catted front pipe because you'll most likely want a catless header if you're able to depending on your state. Headers can cause an ungodly amount of rasp as I found out with my '02 Camaro SS, both low range, and high. Cats seem to tame a lot of it down, but doesn't make it a lot quieter by any means, just slightly.

If on a DD, do a catted or a resonated.

That's what I have. An invidia N1 and a catless resonated front pipe also by invidia. I plan to put it on in the next week or so when I have time. We can compare notes!!

I havd had it for a month but it is still not installed. Lol... I have read many reviews that say same thing - it quieted down little after couple hundred miles or so.

So I installed the Invidia N1 catback today (not the catless resonated frontpipe yet). I am loving it. Very aggressive. I plan to drive it at least a couple hundred more miles before putting the frontpipe on to see how much quieter it gets with the carbon buildup. Might do overpipe too with the frontpipe in the next install session.
I really like the N1 so far. |
