Buy from reputable dealer. Unichip? Or ecutek. Unichip is a lot cheaper. But I much rather buy ecutek. Because I'm not gonna pretend like I know how to tune

It took 10 years for obdII tuning for established platforms to drop to the $300 price range. I don't see myself ever trusting a $100 tune on a new platform.

I call scam but I'm surprised at the high number of positive feedback from buyers with a decent number of feedbacks (meaning they don't look like throwaway IDs).

I'm pretty sure that most of those so-called "performance chips" are little more than a resistor that gets wired in parallel with the intake air temp sensor. The idea is to make the ECU read colder than actual intake air which leads to potentially richer AFR and more ignition timing advance. Any real world effect will vary quite a bit from car to car and be short-lived but it may be enough for the user to "feel" a slight change before the ECU adjusts to it.

Definitely a placebo effect mod and not worth more than the <$1 resistor used.
