Coasting into the gas station?

You know when you don't need gas you see one every 2 seconds? But then when you are late and on E you can't find one to save you life? Well I filled up 11.2 gallons today haha. Pretty close to empty. What's the most you've had to put in? If you can beat mine ill be fairly impressed by your stupidity haha jk

Isn't the FR-S fuel tank 13.2 gallons? You theoretically had 2 gallons to spare =)

Holy shit my meter is way off then I was under the empty sign. I think I will have to read the owners manual but I doubt it's much bigger than 11 and a half
Damn I stand corrected. Good to know.

I liked the gas gauge on the tC - it didn't have "E" for empty, but rather "R" for reserve, as the tank isn't empty at that point.

I generally run down to the point the light comes on and then fill up, unless I'm travelling and might be in an area where there aren't gas stations. If that's the case I'll start looking for a gas station at 1/4.

I always fill up when i'm at 1/4, and when i pump i only put $20 in. Lets me monitor my driving. Though if i know i'm traveling long distances i'll fill it up.

Well, according to the manual, when your fuel light comes on, you have approximately 7 liters or 1.8 gallons of gasoline left. I just put gas in last week and the gas pump stopped at 11.5 gallons The way I look at it, if you drive moderately, you're probably getting ~25 MPG (at least for me, this works). So, 13.2 gallons * 25 = 330 miles. I reset my Trip meter every time I fill up to help me keep track. I basically don't bother looking for a gas station until I hit 300 miles.

Owners manual also states that you should get fuel as soon as it hits "E", the gasoline lubricates the fuel pump and all the mechanisms in the fuel tank, if you let it sit with low fuel you could dry it out and cause premature degradation of the parts.

But still, no worries as long as you don't actually run out of gas on the road you'll be fine.

Except for today is always fill up when the light comes on. Is it bad for the engine to run completely out of gas? I assume it's not good for it and is something I don't plan on doing it but will it cause long term damage
?

I was under the impression the tank is 12gal. I always try and fill once it hits E, usually end up putting about 10.5 gal each fill.

12.4 is my worst. The tank is 13gal US, the light turns on after 10 gal US. I think people are confusing US and Imperial gallons.
