Sound Deadening Showdown
Im trying to acquire some CLD tiles and MLV for my sound system upgrade. Found that this site and its products came highly recommended. I CANT FOR THE LIFE OF ME FIGURE OUT HOW?? I understand the site breaks down sound deadening and all its aspects down almost to dummy proof. But getting a qoute for some CLD and MLV shipped is next to impossible. I've sent an email, sometimes multiple emails a day hoping I get a response back. Nothing. Not one thing in regards back. Almost to the point that i'll spring for the more expensive brands out there and forget SDS all together. How hard is it to send an email back?? I'ts been 6 days of emailing with no response. I give up

To my understanding SDS was originally an enthusast who went about breaking down sound deadening materials from varoius vendors. Now that he's got his own product line he's selling I hear he's had some problems with his site. I'm wondering if the issue isn't so much him as his hosting company. I don't know if he has a contact number listed but you may want to consider calling him.
That being said, there's a lot of compeating products out there. Second Skin, FatMat, RaamMat, Dynamat, Damplifier, etc. If you're not getting the kind of customer service you feel you should, I'd consider one of the other vendors. |

Sorry if it sounded like i was bashing him and his site, i was just a little frustrated that i can't get in contact with him to get the product i want. I planned on doing the deadening this weekend while i waited on fiber to dry(building my custom enclosure this weekend). Guess i'll have to find something else to pass the time. |

Dude,
I actually have 68 sq ft of MLV sitting in my garage. If you can wait a few weeks or month, I don't mind giving you some. I won't use it all, just let me know how much you want/need and we can go from there? A company I recommend for sound deadener is Audio Technix. I bought some a couple of ears ago and it worked really well in my last car, and isn't real expensive. I can show that as well. I may give GTmat a try also since they're a vendor here. |

I also just got ordered a free sample from GMAT today. Gonna see how it stacks up to other brands that I've seen. Never heard of audio technix, but that doesnt mean that they aren't good. Gonna look into it.

What do you mean?
As for the MLV, I'm not sure how much exactly I'm going to use. Right now I just plan on doing the doors and maybe the front floor. So, I'm guessing I'll use around half of it. What kind of box are you building & what subs are you using? I was going to do a false floor, then moved to a separate sub on either side of the trunk, but may just do a regular box with the subs firing to the rear. Since I'm only going to be home for 4 months, I don't want to spend every waking minute working on my car, hence my box decision. |

As for the MLV, is it possible for you to figure out what u plan on using, and then me possibly getting what's ever left behind? I'll throw some cash your way if necessary as well, not trying to be a free loader haha. Im building a box pretty much like the guys from Speakerboxxx(for the life of me cant find the link) built. Mine will point a bit more toward the cabin, but the same basic idea. Im gonna be running a 10" JBL GTO1014D on a JBL px300.4 Amp. Components are gonna be JBL GTI608 MKII(really good deal on em). I can see where you're going with the whole box idea. I need a box like the one I'm gonna build, because trunk very tiny, need much space for road trips, must have room for bags and sneakers. |

Good! I talked with him a couple of years ago and he is very helpful & informative.
I'll let you know about the MLV when I get home. My guess is I'll need about half of it. |
