TiC needs 3 testers...
For our new solid steering rack bushings...
Some background - while we can test until the cows come home we really like to get unbiased third party feedback. We do this so we know we're not releasing a part with blinders on. We also do this to get third party feedback. we also do this to help give back to the community (we pick different reviews over time as we do this type of thing). Requirements:
THIS THREAD. Really simple. If you flood my PM box you are not following the very first instruction so how can I expect you to follow the others? Items that will help with selection:
Once we have made out decision we will contact each person. It will do you absolutely no good to continue to ask once we have announced that the testers have been chosen. I expect to be able to pick the three testers by noon tomorrow. And for an idea of what these new steering rack bushings look like: |

I'll go for it.
What's been done to the car: Essex Competition Sprint Brake kit OEM Crash bolts Whiteline com-c top hats 17x8 RPF1s with 235/40 AD08s Oil cooler this weekend Eibach Sportline springs (currently off the car as Sebring was too rough with them) What I do with the car: Autocross, track days (4 so far since I got the car, 2 days next month) and daily drive. Approx. 16,000 miles on the car right now since May, 29, 2012. Past Reviews: Essex Brake kit: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...&postcount=404 Sportline Springs: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14674 Why should I be picked? I'll provide an honest opinion of them under varied driving conditions (street/autocross and track). I have a fair amount of experience with setup and various modications from my other cars. I also do all of my own work on my car (well outside of warranty of course), have plenty of tools, space, lift, etc to document the installation process as well. If selected I'll try to at least find an autocross in the area for the review (in regards to the time requirement) in addition to the daily driver side of the review. I'd have to update it at the end of feb with any differences noticed on the track. Thanks for the opportunity.

Can't go wrong with Dave-ROR
I would be able to do a review, however my car is a daily driver only and is not used in competition of any sort right now. Reviews MXP Exhaust http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ght=music+ears Perrin intake review http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...+intake+review Suspension mods on the car: Tein H Tech springs OEM camber bolts TIC MC brace ![]() 225/40 and 235/40R18 Continental DW's on 18x8 and 18x9 wheels all bushings are currently stock I should mention i am ordering an adjustable front sway bar tomorrow, i can wait to install it until after these so the results aren't skewed. I have access to a lift every day of the week and would be able to post pics of the install. @vubaru was wanting some steering rack bushings and has a good setup with RCE Yellows, front LCA bushings, rear crossmember bushings, etc. |

What's involved with the install:
1) Get the car SAFELY up in the air. 2) Remove the undertrays. 3) Identify the steering rack bushings 4) Remove each bolt for the steering rack bushings 5) Pull away the rack from the front subframe 5a) You do NOT need to unbolt the steering rack knuckle/trunnion 6) Remove the stock steering rack bushings 6a) There are a number of ways you can do this. To KEEP the old bushings using a bearing press with the various adapters is a great way to do it. 7) Lubricate the o-rings on the new bushings (dishwashing soap works great for this). Avoid using something that is petroleum based as this will decay the rubber over time. 8) Push bushings into place. They are a split design so one goes in on the subframe side, and one goes in opposite the subframe side. You will need two bushings halves for each side (4 pieces total). When you push them in there will be some initial resistance and then the bushing will pop into place. 9) Apply some anti-seize to the new bolts provided. 10) Use the new washers provided. 11) Start threads on one side and then do the other 12) Tighten to 55 lbs. |

What's done to my car.
Eneos Motor Oil Pentosin Transmission Fluid Motul 300v Differential Fluid What I do with my car Daily Driver and track car. I take the car to the track 1 - 2 times per month. I've already taken it to the track twice and I've only just got my license plates last week. lol I'll be taking the car to Laguna Seca on Feb 3rd for a track day and I'll be at the track tomorrow night as well. Why Pick Me? I have access to lifts and do most of my own wrenching. Also, I write instruction manuals for installing Supercharger and Twin Turbo Kits for a living. I enjoy writing and am very capable of doing a solid review. Thanks, -Mike Stark |

Now remember guys - this is independent testing/product feedback. We've done the testing and product iterations here, and have final product in hand that we're happy with. Thing is our happy may not be other people's happy, thus reason for the independent testing.
I will point out a couple of things - the people are chosen not by who we know, but who helps the community and provides realistic feedback. Also, these people are getting the parts for free so there is absolutely NO financial reason to sway their review. |
