Honestly thats going to depend on what needs to be done.
When I did it part time I'd charge $75-100 for a wash/wax and vacuum/dust.
If you need paint correction (swirls fixed, oxidation removed, scuffs fixed, etc), or want sealant, or high end wax, etc... it's more.

I'd ask for $150 for a 1 stage paint correction (ie 1 stage of polishing/compounding), $250-300 for 2 stages, and like 400+ for anything more.

how much does a car cost?

There is a huge range, it really depends on the quality you want/need. Exterior corrective work can range from 60-85/hr for the best of the best.

Here is what is crazy.....the car wash detailing they will charge you nearly 50/hr but they cloak it in a package price and they just do lock step detailing that will likely not personally address you issues on the car. yet people think that slaping on some oilly mess that covers the imperfections, last only a few weeks is a great deal vs. spending the same per hour rate but getting it done correctly. Granted it might take twice as long, but you will easily get twice the out come and easily twice the durabilty.

I don't know of a recommended detailer for the New Mexico area.....Az yes

Cheers,
GREG

I usually pay $300 to $350 for a FULL job on the BRZ. That is a wash, soap, rinse, claybar, rinse, polishing, wax/sealant and it's an extra $50 if you want an Opticoat which basically just replaces the wax/sealant step. The $50 covers the cost of a tube of opticoat.

I tell most anyone who approaches me with that question that it all depends on your expectations and budget. How much are you willing to put into it is really the question. $100? $500? somewhere in between?

The owner, the budget, the size of the vehicle, what its used for - all goes into determining the price. I offer a few different pricing packages so hopefully there is something for everyone

With all that said - most of my clients choose what I call a 'full' detail which is a thorough interior cleaning including steaming the carpets and protecting the interior parts, exterior wash, clay bar, 1 step polish, wax for around $300 (cars).
