Door glass? FRS and BRZ the same?

Hey guys. My car got broken in to two nights ago and they shattered my driver side window. I called Toyota and they quoted me 550 for the window. I called Subaru thinking they are the same and it was only 340. They ended up being two different part numbers. Anyone have any insight on if the windows are actually different.

I Google's the part numbers and the Toyota came up as window glass + door card it seemed.

Any help is appreciated.

They are going to be different part numbers simply because one is a Subaru pt number and one is a Toyota. I can't answer your question specifically, but I am almost certain they are the same.

But things like the oil filter are the Subaru number for each. That's why I'm really curious about this.

My deductible is 500 so insurance won't cover it. I'm not hella mad, all they took was a jacket and left all the valuables. It was below freezing and its a warm ass jacket, obviously they really needed it.

But side markers are different part number, gaskets for drain plugs are different, exhaust tips part numbers are different..etc

There are tons of parts on the cars that are different, and price is different between them too. Drain gaskets for transmission and differential are all different part numbers in Toyota/Subaru and different amount of money.

OK. Thanks a lot for the insight. Makes me feel safer dropping the cash on the Subaru part. Damn Toyota with their damn price markups. Almost fricken double.

I can't remember, but is there an etching on the window (i.e. scion vs. subaru)? Maybe something to consider if there is. I'd go down and check but it's too early plus my car is covered.

For that money.... That's a lot.

The oil filters cost more at the Toyota dealership, too. I would suspect that they are the same, honestly - unless the mounting is somehow different, and for a part whose difference would not add any value to the vehicle, why would they make it different?
