Glass polish? - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Hello everyone! My moms car has water marks galore on her windscreen, side windows, and rear windows. Invisible glass wont rid them. I cant tell they are slightly etched into the glass. No matter how much I try to teacher how to take care of these things so they don't build up, it goes in one ear and out of other lol

So my question is, what is a decent, affordable, glass polish? Thank you for your help:happy0180:

I've been told that a metal razor blade ran across the glass removes pita grime/water spots and lets the water sheet off better.

I use Glass Science "Glass Scrub". It's like a cream polish that you put on your windows.

Even though I'm in New Zealand, it is made in the good old US of A by Unelko Corporation.

Works really well, and also got rid of the wax pen that was used to write the delivery city on the screen with.

You have a few options. First and cheapest is steel wool. 0000 is the least aggressive and can be used with straight water or your glass cleaner. DO NOT use steel wool on mirrors as it will scratch. Autoglym Car Glass Polish is awesome for removing water marks when used with steel wool or foam applicator by hand or even with a polishing pad on your DA ( speed 4 ). A razor could scratch your glass so I'd err on the side of caution and use another method.

Scratch Out works very well, even for fairly deep gouges...

Check Griot's Garage, they sell 2 types of glass polish and both have good results.

Next time you WAX yor car, do the glasses as well. I use a random orbit polisher with 3 M liquid, the results are outstanding !!

ive heard that clay bars as well as newspaper will clear those out, tho ive used none of them

Hell everyone and thank you very much for your responses!

I tried everything from glass polish, paint polish, vinegar, hand applying it, Using a polisher, and using 0000 Steel wool. I'm frusterated to hell lol all I did was lessen it -- not fix it. I have a feeling she just let the glass go to too long and the glass is etched with hardwater stains and acid rain.

My god, I would never let my cars glass go like that

Moms... What are you gonna do?

If it's deeply pitted like that, not sure there is much you can do. Usually for light pitting, you can buff it out with a DA.
