Rough start but no tune....
So the temp this moring was around 35 degrees.. And i go to start my car and it wont turn over.. Try it again and the same issue finally on the 3rd attempt it starts roughly.. Then as im about to leave i notice a knocking sound almost like the oil hasnt been changed.. But it has lol so i drive to work and the car is back to normal.. Im just assuming this might be from the cold.. Atleast i hope.. No tune or anything runnin just 93 .. From sunoco

How much gas was in the tank? Had it been in the 20's the night before? You might consider a fuel additive (or dry gas) but you need to check the manual and some threads here (read: I'm not doing this it's a generic suggestion) if you need to park the car outside and have a long commute before you park it. Or maybe you're already using a fuel additive...in which case you might be adding too much.

I've noticed this car doesn't like to crank in cold weather.... Is it possible the 0w20 oil is so thin it sort of gels up over a cold night? Or another possibility is that our oem batteries don't have much cca... I've noticed that when its sub 32f and I sit in the car with the engine off but the light and or the radio on for more then 10-15 min that car doesn't like to start right up.

Thousands if not millions of other cars use 0w20, definitely has nothing to do with 0w20 oil.

If anything 0W20 should be better in cold temperatures.

Mine did it for like a week , the tint shop left all the doors open and the lights didn't kill the battery but drained it pretty well. After a week or so it was fine .

When I got back into my car (stereo on, heater set to LV.1) there was a hesitation. I was like wtf? I believe the outside temp. was 43F to 40F degrees. I'm not digging this at all. I sincerely hope this does not become a trend.

I also have had zero issues with cold starts. And I know cold starts! It was -1 out this morning and if fired up fine. However, When in the single digits, I notice it knocks on start up also. This concerns me being so new.

I had problems starting when it first got cold here...
Some post I read said to engage the key first and light up the cluster of warning lights. You will hear many noises, one of which supposedly pumps the gas into the ignition (fuel pump I presume). After 5 seconds or so just continue and start the car. It's never had a problem like before when I did this. |

I'm not saying the car won't start in the cold. It just takes a bit more effort. Also I've noticed the car misses at high idle while cold.
