Chirp (Video Inside)

Alright so after owning the car for a little over three weeks and reading page after page of chirping issues, I think I may have it...

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSSwLdAuJIU"]FR-S Chirp - YouTube[/ame]

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard there is no concrete fix for this yet... On the other hand, I've read people have gotten it fixed and have had no further problems.

What should I do?

take it in so that it is documented. if the dealership says its normal call BS on them and then contact scion directly. they will send one of their guys down to the dealer to look at it.

this is what i had to do anyway. Then when it finally got fixed about 50 miles later the chirp came back but worse. Once again they are trying to pull teh same thing saying it is normal. Also get all your documentation when you take it in. they sometimes try to be shady and say they cant print the paperwork for whatever reason.

That's a chirp?
Sounds more like clatter to me.

I have had that sound since day one. Not sure why it bothers people. Sounds like its ready to shake apart. It's classy.

So I should just disregard what I'm hearing unless it gets worse?

Right now, it sounds like the noise of the belt/pulley running is louder and is hard to tell if the HPFP is making the chirping noise. HPFP chirp noise gets a lot louder than the belt/pulley noise. It will be loud enough to hear it even at 35 mph coasting in neutral. I can hear mine at 50 mph in neutral when the road is nice and smooth.

I would wait a little bit longer until the noise becomes obvious so that the dealer won't be coming back with the reasons you wouldn't want to hear.

That is not the chirping noise that everyone else is complaining about.

To be honest, I think that is the normal sound of the injectors. Mine sounds the same. On the videos I've heard, the chirp is another sound on top of the sound you are hearing.

Thanks for everyone's input. You guys probably know more then me so I'll take your word on it. I'm glad you guys are saying it doesn't sound like other people's chirping problems. I'll keep an eye on it and hopefully I never have to deal with it.

Thanks again.

Sounds like injectors to me. Our Evo X sounded the same way.

That's not chirping.

I can definitely hear the chirp. But to get it good on a video (so that other noise doesn't get in the way) you have to be away from the belts. Tape it from the right to the side of the HPFP.
